I arrived Friday afternoon and was received with a very warm welcome and shown around the house and was introduced to some of the other guests. Later in the day I went out and discovered that there is an amazing indoor market right around the corner, perfect to buy fresh fruit juices and other snacks and I was amazed with the great selection of vegan restaurants around the corner. I decided to have a takeaway from the Biocentre but could not help myself to treat myself to a meal for 1 as it’s a super cosey cafe so very comfortable to be dining alone.
After a good nights sleep in a beautiful, clean and bright room I was excited to start the yoga and mindfulness day with the talented Dipa Trivedi. She travels in from London on a monthly basis.
The weather was amazing for a November day so we had our yoga on the roof terrace, it´s such a nice place for yoga and laying in a stretch with the winter sun warming my skin was so nice.
The lunch was delicious and it was great to chat with the host and the other guests at the house. After lunch some of us went for a walk around the market and others had a siesta until our mindfulness session, again on the roof terrace with a combination of meditating, breathing and yoga, it was great to see and feel the sun go down. If you would like more time exploring the city you can skip the meditation if you wish.
The following day we had another 2 hours of yoga, lunch and meditating with Dipa.
At 15.00 we where free to explore the city and some of us met back at the house around 19.30 to go for dinner. We went to Flax & Kale a lovely vegetarian restaurant only a few blogs from the retreat and the food was amazing, I choose the mezze plater and absolutely loved it.
On Monday I had my last Yoga class at 9.30 and left the retreat around lunchtime. I felt great, I had fun, and it was wonderful meeting so many nice people from all over the world and I definitely look forward to go back in the new year.
My conclusion is
Yoga, activities, shopping, sight-seeing, delicious vegetarian food, meeting new people and a good night sleep.
It was the perfect break, just what I needed. And I will definitely visit again.
